About

13334_1303051979069_1313561678_885301_8323818_nBorn in Florida, I left as soon as I could. I lived and worked in London (Camden Arts Centre), Munich (University of Maryland Munich Campus), and Fieberbrunn (Austria–Landhaus Pirker–I was a maid!), but am now settled in North Carolina and work for the University of North Carolina Press. Classical music, singing, opera, theater, and art are my passions. And traveling to Europe to see them!

I never dreamed that when I read The Magician’s Nephew (C.S. Lewis) that one day I would live in London; that when I listened to The Sound of Music soundtrack over and over I would someday live near Salzburg; or that when I traveled through Munich on my first visit to Europe that I would one day speak German and live there.

You never know what is around the bend on the long and winding road!

I only very recently discovered your blog, but you stopped writing after Aug. 2013. Will you write and post again? Hope all is well. Many thanks for your wonderful writing.
